This version of the site you are looking at has only been existence for less than a year (1st cake day is in February some time) but a lot has been accomplished here. The biggest thing being that I was able to get this site up and running fairly quickly.

It’s been a long time since I have had to do any sort of hands on web site administration. Learning everything involved with self-hosting and the coding involved with maintenance was a challenge (since I’m not exactly the best at coding). But with hard work I have everything here configured to my liking & the upkeep has been much more simplified.

Normally I don’t really trust my site stats that much since for some reason I think the tracker I use counts spambots as legimiate hits. But I know for sure that the most amount of traffic came in here in April. Why April? That just happened to be the time I went to Sakura-con to see Hangry & Angry.

Apparently some 2 Channelers found my posts & linked to them in their forum. Hence the spike in traffic. Perhaps I may have insulted them in one of my comments but it was more out of shock than to be mean spirited.

I mean someone there was someone nice enough to link to here (even if they can’t read what I’m saying) so to me it’s all good. Every once in a while I get some traffic from 2 channel so I guess there are some stragglers who are hanging around here. Which is cool.

What else? Hmm… Well I guess now that I have a nicer looking site (compared to the last 2 versions) it kicked off a bit of a promotion spree. I had attended two large conventions this year and unfortunately I didn’t have anything prepared for Sakura-con but at Anime Expo I was pretty much handing out business cards to anyone I ran into.

Whether that has actually increased my readership is debatable but at least I got this site (& my name) out there.

Speaking of pimping, I guess becoming more actively involved in IW & JPH!P this year has also helped this site immensely. My role within both organizations is minimal within the grand scheme of things but at least some people know who the dude behind all this is.

I look forward to improving things here as I learn more about how to work with WordPress and hopefully try to implement some new features that will help improve functionality & navigation. As for content? Well anyone who has hung around here knows that there isn’t exactly one focused topic/group/type of music I write about. Nothing will change in that regard unless something really blows me away.

Overall I’d say it was a pretty good (less than a) year.
