Review

Big Bang’s second Japanese album arrives just over a year  after their debut and features songs from their recent Korean mini-album and all their Japanese singles and b-sides.

With that said there really isn’t too much of a difference from this and their recent Korean work. In fact, it’s exactly the same except for the language. Does that mean this isn’t worth listening to? That depends. If you have all of their Japanese singles then perhaps not as you’ll end up double dipping for songs you already own.

If you’re a hardcore Big Bang fan and must collect everything of theirs then you won’t really care and will gladly hand over your money for this album.  I think Big Bang 2 is probably best suited for those who have a passing interest in the group as it conveniently assembles everything in one package. Why spend a bunch of money on singles when you can just pick this up right?

For those of you who have been living in a cave and have not yet been infected by Big Bang’s brand of infectious pop I recommend that you just go through the entire album and enjoy the ride. If you’re the extremely impatient type then just jump directly to Tonight, Beautiful Hangover, Ms. Liar and Hands Up to get a general feel of Big Bang’s vibe.

Or alternatively you can just buy either version of their Korean 4th mini-album. Whatever works for you.
