Hatsukoi Cider

Hatsukoi Cider is one of the songs on Buono’s 13th single which will be released in January. The majority of this is spent in front of their band wearing Austin Powers era styled outfits. In a way you can think of this as similar to Bravo Bravo without the dance shots.

Yes, you read that right. There are no dance shots in this video to speak of. Instead we get plenty of mugging for the camera and some interesting shots of the girls from the ground up. And even though Momoko is the only one showing any leg she’s not wearing a skirt so all you perverts and your upskirt fantasies can look elsewhere or just pretend that she’s wearing one.

So without a dance shot what exactly is there to watch? To be honest not much. Unless you’re REALLY into one of the individual members or are a HUGE Buono! fan you’re going to find this video to be a real drag.

There are some redeemable things that one can pull out of this video even if it isn’t the most exciting overall. The pink and black (the colors of Bret “The Hitman” Hart) outfits are rather stylish and Miyabi manages to rock the bowler hat quite nicely.

I find these to be some of the better stage costumes put together by the H!P costume designers. Let’s be thankful that this group will never be dressed as ducks (see Morning Musume’s Pyoko Pyoko Ultra gear) shall we?

Being the Buono! whore that I am I found this fairly enjoyable. This group always manages to make something out of nothing. And they pretty much had nothing to work with here. As I stated before some of you may not feel that way and might get a little bored.

With that said this is worth watching at least once before forgetting about it over anticipation for the video for Deep Mind.

As for the song itself. It sounds like it fits the Buono! style of music and seems pretty decent. A more in depth review will come upon its release date.

Hatsukoi Cider/Deep Mind will be released on January 18th.
