Review

This is the night portion of Chieko Kinbara’s Night & Day series and it starts off similar to how the Day CD did with an uplifting House track. The sound transitions from uptempo to Deep House as you get further into the disc. Which makes perfect sense as the theme of this album seem to focus more on a mellower, late night kind of vibe.

A lot of this album would be great to play for a chill out room or maybe for an end of night set. For you non-DJ’s this would be something great to play to help relax at the end of the day. When listening to this album I was reminded of the kind of songs that one would hear from Blue Six. So if you like that Naked Music type of sound I believe you’ll dig this.

Some of the songs that are of interest are the down tempo Out Of The Weak Will Come Strength, the simple elegance of The Angels Song and the tribal-like Set Fire To Me. Near the end of the disc the pace picks up again with Shadow and Autumn Moon which helps end things how they started.

I think this album was the better of the Night & Day series. I found it to be a slightly more engaging listening experience just because it’s a different from the type of House I typically play. I recommend giving this a listen if you’re in the mood for something to chill out to.
