Exile Live Tour 2K10

This is part of EXILE’s first stadium tour and it was filmed at the Anjinomoto Stadium in Tokyo August 14th and 15th 2010. The last EXILE concert I watched was way back in 2007 when they did their Evolution tour. Back then they were only a 7 member group, now with the merge with J-Soul Brothers they have doubled their numbers and have gained 2 more vocalists and 5 more dancers.

With that many dudes on stage it’s no wonder they need larger venues to perform in. Not like they haven’t earned it as they have been extremely successful over the past couple of years. The venue for this concert is fucking huge with a capacity of 50,000 people and it looked pretty damn packed. With the larger venue comes more extravagant production values with huge sets, video screens and tons of dancers and special effects.

Put all that together and you have one hell of a show that looks like a lot of fun. The more interesting parts for me were numerous. There was Angel, where some random women were allowed to come on stage and get serenaded. Pretty much all of them were freaking out to varying degrees. One looked like she was gonna pass out from the excitement.

Some of the vocal responsibilities were also spread out among the dudes from J-Soul Brothers (Nesmith and Shokichi) and it was nice to hear a slightly different take on some songs that we’re used to hearing only Atsushi and Takahiro on. I think there were even a couple of J-Soul Brothers songs included in the set list so that was a nice touch as well. Having four vocalists is definitely a great thing.

Lastly were the dancers. Apparently the EXILE family is not just a sausage factory as the groups Happiness, Dream and Flower were prominently featured as performers. EXPG are always fun to watch as well.

Overall a very enjoyable concert. I wouldn’t mind attending one of their shows, I bet it would be kind of hard to get tickets though.
