Happy 2nd Cake Day International Wota

March 18th is the second anniversary of the International Wota Network.  I have only been a member of this group for a short time but figured I would participate in this event.  The custom is that one must celebrate this day by getting baked displaying various baked goods in compromising fashion for all to drool over or something like that.  Well I’m too unskilled to bake and too lazy (& broke) to go and get a cake so here’s a picture of a Hello Kitty Cake that I think is cool.

While it doesn’t appear to be very celebratory it’s better than what I originally had in mind (which is a whole other level of baked).  But hey, it’s a cake. =)

So yeah… I guess a little about how I discovered IW and how I came to be a member of the community & what it means to me.  During my early days of researching H!P I stumbled upon the site.  I was able to obtain a lot of great resources there to assist in my understanding of the entire H!P structure & such.  There were also many other links to music I was interested in at the time so I added IW to my bookmarks.

It wasn’t until I actually started writing about the music myself that I became part of the IW community.  To be honest, I’m surprised I was accepted & that any of my articles are covered as I consider my writings to be probably too casual (& sometimes uninformative) compared to others within the network.  But it’s always nice when someone feels something you wrote is worth sharing with others.

More recently I’ve been more involved with communicating with many in the community (whose blogs I also happen to read as well).  Not many of my friends or family are into Japanese music, so IW is a place where I can hang out with some like-minded people for a little while & talk about this kind of stuff without getting a blank look in response.

With all that said, light one up & pour out a little liquor in honor of IW’s 2nd anniversary.  Oh, and have some cake too.
