Preview of C-ute’s upcoming single “Kirai de Kirai de Kirai”

This is a radio rip. The official release is according to Hello! Sayunii on 11/9

Following up on Berryz Koubou×C-ute’s “Amazuppai Haru ni Sakurasaku”, C-ute has now released a preview for their  b-side. In comparison to Amazuppai Haru ni Sakurasaku that was a really happy song, Kirai de Kirai de Kirai is  a much more mature song with great instrumentals. My only complaint in this song is that some of the solos, especially from the more high-pitched girls, couldn’t keep up with the powerful instrumentals. The last thing I would like to point out is that this doesn’t really feel like an idol song, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact I enjoyed the “girl band” feeling I got from this song.

The song starts by playing violin, then it goes on by adding some bass and synthesizers which I found a little surprising, but I think this was a very strong start. The violin is played from time to time after this, but not at the same time as vocals. As the girls starts to sing I think that some of the girls aren’t living up the very high standards of this song’s instrumentals. I think that the voices from the more high-pitched voices doesn’t really work too well with this song. With that said, some of the girls also did sing really nice solos.

The best singing was however what was done in groups. When the girls sung in groups the sound of a bunch of voiced clashed together fit the song really well. The choruses were especially good as the music increased in intensity along with the girls.

About 2/3 into the song we got an instrumental rock solo with electric guitar, bass guitar and some synthesizer that I really liked followed by another chorus. Towards the end of this the song we get some violin with some synthesizer. The very last part of the song is bass together with synthesizer.

I believe this song was really good. I really loved the instrumentals, and I think that although some of the vocal solos didn’t quite live up the standards of the instrumentals here, I think that the girls still did a good job (although some did better others).

The other main point in this song for me was that it actually had violins as a main theme as violins are one of my two favorite instruments.
