Review
Tiara is an R&B singer who has worked with Spontania and SEAMO. Message For You is her debut album and features the previously released singles Goodbye To You, Who I Love More, Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta Koto & Love Is…
Her songs are on the smoother and much more mellow side of R&B. So if you’re looking for a bunch of club jams featuring the rapper of the moment you’re not going to find those here. Instead you’re going to get something that’s suited to a more relaxed environment.
That’s just fine with me as I don’t think her voice is really suited towards anything more than ballads or mid tempo songs. She has a sweet tone that fits in with those kind of productions. In a way she’s similar to BENI but without the crystal clear dynamics that she has.
Not to say that Tiara can’t sing. She certainly can, it’s just her approach is much more subtle compared to other R&B singers. Songs like previously mentioned singles along with My Best Friend, You Two and Tell Me are great examples of mature, smooth R&B done right.
I’d say if you can live without any club oriented songs give this a go. If you can’t do that then pass. But you’ll be missing out on a great debut album.
