Younha – Not There/It’s Okay Review

Youhna Not There Cover

Release Date: January 3, 2014

Track Listing

  1. Not There (Studio Live Ver.)
  2. It’s Okay (Studio Live Ver.)

Not There and It’s Okay are songs taken from Younha’s 2013 EP Subsonic. The original version of Not There has a guest appearance from Eluphant, but the version on the digital download only had Younha’s solo performance.

Whether that is intentional or not I have no clue. Honestly the track doesn’t necessarily need 16 bars spit by an MC in its live form. Those who have heard the original version may notice that the live version is not as intense or really pop oriented at all.

Which one you prefer is up to you. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. I guess it will depend on your mood which one you turn to.

The other song that gets live treatment is It’s Okay. It actually doesn’t sound any different from the original studio version, maybe it’s just a little more stripped down. This is straight up balladry so it may bore some of you who are looking for a little excitement after the first track.

The two tracks on this digital download will probably not be satisfactory for those who like their K-Pop to be in one ear and out the other. But those looking for something less bombastic and more chilled out these are definitely worth the listen.
