This year, the ceremony has taken another leap as the World’s No.1 K-POP Awards, going beyond Asia and rebranding itself into MAMA AWARDS. The renewed trophy, in alignment with the rebrand, is called the “Hyper Cube” and carries the values of K-POP encompassing challenge, passion, dream, growth, expansion and singularity.

Presented by leading entertainment company CJ ENM, MAMA AWARDS is the World’s No.1 K-POP Awards, acclaimed by fans worldwide for its gigantic performances and elaborate stage production, which has introduced Korea’s top-notch production abilities to global audiences.

Each year MAMA AWARDS attracts the biggest artists in music from Asia, like BTS, TWICE, MONSTA X, ITZY, and GOT7, as well as worldwide superstars including Janet Jackson, Snoop Dogg and Dua Lipa. MAMA’s legacy began in 1999 as the Mnet Music Video Daesang, then later became the Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF), sparking the growth of the Korean music industry. In 2009, MKMF was renamed the Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS, and in 2022 it rebranded into MAMA AWARDS in alignment with its ambition to expand globally and position itself as the World’s No.1 K-POP Awards.

In 2010, the massive award show began touring Asia yearly in Macau and Singapore. In addition, MAMA AWARDS has been held in Hong Kong since 2012, highlighting the event’s pan-Asian popularity. Starting with 2018, the ceremony expanded its previously one-day event to span across multiple Asian countries to promote exchanges between different Asian music markets.

Not only has the MAMA AWARDS become a significant year-end music awards ceremony, but it has also blossomed into an extravagant international music event packed with groundbreaking performances.
