WWE heads to Italy for its first-ever PLE in the country. The team predicts winners, title changes for Rematch-amania.
Singles Match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
Becky Lynch (c) vs Sol Ruca
Allen: Sol has been having some Botchamania moments lately. However, I do feel like pairing her with Backy will pay off in the long run with an extended feud. I hope they strap the rocket on Sol, and after they feud, they can move Becky back into the world title picture. My winner and new champ, Sol Ruca.
Greg: I guess Becky has become the gatekeeper for the women’s midcard now, right? After SNME, I think Sol is probably going to win clean and then probably end up doing not much, like Liv Morgan. Winner: Sol Ruca.
BigFreaky: Does Becky having a title even mean anything at this point? It’s too bad The Man is dead and buried. I don’t think Sol is gonna be wearing gold just yet. Big Time Becks with the win.
Justin: I think we’re almost all on the same page here. Becky Lynch puts over the young star here. Sol Ruca becomes the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
Singles Match for the WWE Women’s Championship
Rhea Ripley (c) vs Jade Cargill
Allen: As much as I was impressed by their match at Wrestlemania, I feel like this one will be more of a clusterfuck now that they have their own partnerships. I see Michin, B-Fab, Charlotte, and Alexa getting in the mix and causing chaos that will lead to Rhea retaining. Can’t take the title off the number-one star in WWE; the winner is Rhea Ripley.
Greg: This is basically a 3-on-1 match now that Jade has her crew with her. I agree that Rhea will have backup in the form of Charlotte and Alexa, and once the obligatory shenanigans are over with, Rhea Ripley will retain.
BigFreaky: Winner: Fans of Bondage Gear. But for real, though, Rhea is not gonna drop that title right away. Rhea won after a couple of PG-13 pin attempts.
Justin: Rhea just won it and just moved over to SmackDown. No way they put it back on Jade right now. Rhea Ripley retains.
Tribal Combat for the World Heavyweight Championship
Roman Reigns (c) vs Jacob Fatu
Allen: Tribal Combat just means a NoDQ match, but only Samoans are allowed. Roman hasn’t really moved the needle being World Heavyweight champ so far. They could really try to pull the trigger here and give Jacob the title through craziness and then have their 3rd and final match at SummerSlam. Let’s have Jacob as the champ for a few months. My pick is for Jacob Fatu.
Greg: I wanted Jacob to win at the last PLE, and I want him to win at this PLE. But I just don’t see it happening. Roman and his veneers retain.
BigFreaky: I don’t think Roman wants to go to the Middle East. Jacob is gonna keep that title nice and warm for Roman to regain at Summerslam. Jacob wins.
Justin: They’re going to stretch this into more storylines before pulling the trigger on Jacob. Roman Reigns retains.
Singles Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs Gunther
Allen: I want off the Cody Express, at least for a while. When does the Street Fighter movie come out? Maybe Cody and Roman can take time off during those promotions. Gunther really shouldn’t be losing this match. However, I feel like we won’t see two main title changes in the same PLE. There’s always a first time for everything. I’m going with Gunther.
Greg: When Gunther got moved over to the blue brand, I suspected he would be shot straight to the top. And that he has. I think Sami Zayn will have some involvement in costing Cody the belt, and we will have fresh matchups all around once the reign of the ring general begins. Winner: Gunther (with help from Sami Zayn).
BigFreaky: Too many possibilities surround this match. Each and every direction. Gunther losing would completely waste his past year. Get that strap on, Gunther, and let him return to the USA as an All-American Hero.
Justin: This really comes down to one question: do they want Brock challenging Gunther for the title at SummerSlam with his career on the line, or do they want to run back Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton? With the Randy rematch still sitting there, plus the potential CM Punk program down the line, I think Cody Rhodes retains.
Singles Match
Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar
Allen: I was very surprised that they kept Brock’s return such a secret. I really thought we were not going to see him again. I’m glad he’s back. Bring on more big men slapping meat matches. That being said, Brock is going to get his win back so they can run their 3rd match at SummerSlam. The winner will be Brock Lesnar.
Greg: Brock gotta get his win back before he goes back to the woods of Saskatchewan to murder moose with his bare hands. Oba is pretty over, so he shouldn’t be too set back by losing to Brock before their possible trilogy ends. Just don’t have Brock squash him like he did Kofi. Winner: Brock Lesnar.
BigFreaky: I’m gonna go with everyone else and choose Brock. Not sure if we’ll get the rubber match. But 1-1 between Brock and Oba ain’t too bad. Also doesn’t matter if you make the Italian fans mad. They are showing up for the next show (whenever that is), regardless.
Justin: I think it would be great for Brock to lose against Oba again, and go into a mental spiral story going into his retirement. But I guess in WWE’s mind, give Brock the win here to have him look stronger going into his final match. But then….does Oba ever get 1 more over Brock? I don’t know if they thought this through. What do I think will happen? Brock Lesnar wins and ties the feud.
Backlash Tampa Results
Allen: 5-5
Greg: 5-5
BigFreaky: 3-5
Justin: 5-5
Booker BigFreaky tried to reach for some surprise wins but the other Bookers were better at reading the tea leaves with some perfect predictions. We were all wrong on who Danhausen’s partner would be, but I think having El Torito made the match way better.
Predictions Count
Allen: 19-26
Greg: 19-26
BigFreaky: 15-26
Justin: 21-26
Wrestlemania has brought us tighter in our predictions. Justin still leads the pack with 16, playing the lead booker in the Selective Hearing team. Hopefully WWE can give us more than four matches in the upcoming PLEs so we can have some variety and maybe mix things up in our choices.
