HYPNOTIZE was the pre-release single for XG’s first full-length studio album THE CORE – 核. The original version of the song leans heavily into the Piano House sound, with light traces of funk, disco, and pop. This uptempo track does exactly as its title states — it hooks you once that first burst of energy hits at the opening chorus.
For my remix, I wanted to stay within the Piano House lane while adding a bit more rhythmic bounce during the verses to create kinetic energy between sections of the song. The final result is a version of HYPNOTIZE that doesn’t explode outward as much as the original and is more anchored. There’s a bit of a trade-off in moving the song into a late-night dance floor reset compared to the original’s peak-time feeling.
