Review

Yasashisa de Afureru You ni is the 12th single release from Flower. It is a cover of the JUJU song of the same name and was used as the theme song for the movie Shokubutsu Zukan.

The a-side of this single is a carbon copy cover and therefore has minimal changes to the arrangement or vocals. So if you are a fan of the original by JUJU, you should, in theory, enjoy this take by FLOWER. For those who have not heard either version, Yasashisa de Afureru is a pop ballad with soft acoustic guitars, sweeping strings and all you expect of this type of song. It can be considered adult contemporary fare for your local lite radio or adult R&B radio station.

The b-sides consist of 2 updated versions of FLOWER’s previous releases and one original track. All of them follow the pace set by the a-side, meaning that you’re not going to get any uptempo songs. These songs are pleasant enough but don’t necessarily contain anything exciting to make mention of.

Overall this is probably just worth picking up for the JUJU cover. The rest is likely bonus material or filler.
