Ailee is a Korean-American singer and actress signed to YMC Entertainment. She has been dubbed as the “Korean Beyonce” due to her high level of charisma and vocal skills.

With 3 EPs under her name as well as several awards under her belt, she released her first full-length album at the end of September 2015. The lead single from this album was Mind Your Own Business.

The album starts strong with that song right off the bat. Nothing wrong with some familiarity to get people warmed up right? That is a somewhat deceptive start as the songs that follow don’t go along the same musical path.

In fact many of them tend to fall within the mid-tempo or ballad territory. That might turn a few people away for fear of being lulled into boredom. Those who stick around will find some real gems. The second single Insane, Symphony, Letting Go and Love Recipe (not a cover of the Gummy song of the same name) are tracks worth checking out immediately.

What you really should do is listen to the entire thing from beginning to end. Vivid as a whole is a very good effort (for a first full-length) and it will probably be more appealing to those who want a more mature level of R&B/Pop. Those looking to kick it in the club should steer clear of this album.
