Killin’ Me Good is the title track from TWICE member Jihyo’s debut solo album Zone. The original is a funky Urban dance-pop number about the circle of life of a relationship, starting from the honeymoon phase to the bitter ending of a breakup.
For my remix, I wanted to give the song an old-school feel. So, I did my best to take inspiration from early 90s R&B to create the instrumental. The drum programming was the most challenging part of this project since I’m not used to working with 16th-note triplets.
The final result ended up better than I had expected.
