Following the release of their genre-bending EP “DOPE!” in June, the four-piece band muque wastes no time in shifting gears with a brand-new single: “Level up”, out now.
Built on a laidback four-on-the-floor groove, the track opens with an irresistible guitar riff before plunging into vocalist Asakura’s rich, low-toned delivery — a voice that immediately sets the tone.
Lyrically, “Level up” is all about ambition, connection, and moving forward with the people who matter. Whether it’s chasing dreams with your crew or locking eyes on the future, it’s a song that hits especially hard for a generation navigating uncertainty with hope.
“Level up” continues muque’s streak of crafting honest, emotionally driven tracks that blur the lines between genres. With their sound evolving and their voice growing louder, muque is more than ready for their next chapter — and they’re bringing everyone with them.
About muque

What sets muque apart is its refusal to be bound by conventional music trends. The four-piece band hailing from Fukuoka, Japan, was formed in May 2022, consisting of Asakura (Vocals & Guitar), Lenon (Bass), takachi (Trackmaker & Drums), and Kenichi (Guitar).
The band’s name, muque, is a fusion of the French word for “music”—musique—and the Japanese word muku, meaning “innocence” or “untainted.” This name reflects the band’s ethos: a commitment to creating pure, unfiltered music, free from external influence.
Drawing from global influences, especially Asian sounds, muque blends timeless melodies with innovative arrangements. Their songs are rich in both lyrical depth and emotional resonance, offering listeners a unique and immersive experience of authentic, untainted music.
