BEBE is the title track from STAYC’s fifth single S. The original version is a minimal dance-pop track featuring rhythmic spoken-style vocals in the verses, transitioning to sung vocals with a playful attitude as it builds to the chorus. When I first heard this song, I knew I could add my own splashes of color to it. With recent circumstances and events taking up the time in my calendar, it took a bit longer to get to this in my queue, but better late than never, right?
My remix of BEBE is a reimagined version inspired by the sound of late 1980s and early 1990s dance music. The rhythm section has a looser, club-friendly structure and groove. The instrumentation combines retro-sounding synths with a more rhythmic bassline, resulting in a fresh take on the song that retains the original’s spirit.
