Bad Habits is the lead single from Ed Sheeran’s fifth album =. Described as a synth-pop song in a similar lane as The Weeknd’s recent songs, it was a polarizing change in direction for Sheeran, who isn’t exactly known to release dance floor pleasers.
While researching what had been done to this song already, I saw that there were quite a few official remixes released. Unfortunately, most of them I found took away from the charm of the original version except for probably the Joel Corry remix.
After listening to the song several times, I discovered that there isn’t a lot of complexity to Bad Habits. Instead, it’s a very no-frills type of production. So for my remix, I tried to keep it simple as well.
It starts with a simple acoustic guitar rhythm and builds to a similar no-nonsense dance track. I didn’t want to mess too much with Bad Habits; instead, bring a different type of energy to the track.
