Love Dive is the second single from Starship Entertainment’s newest girl group, IVE. Unlike their debut single, there are no obvious ethnic influences, and the song is a straight-up pop-dance banger with equal parts Hip-Hop and dance music elements.
Suffice it to say, this is a home run for IVE at their second at-bat.
For my remix, I followed the flow of the original version regarding the arrangement, slowly building up to the chorus in the same manner. The only fundamental difference besides the drum programming style is the choice of sounds. I did use a low brass section for the chord progression but made them less prominent sounding than in the original.
I also used a variety of swirly-sounding synths and pads during the chorus to give off a more dreamy vibe during that part of the song. Lastly, I added a few walking bass lines during the verse and chorus sections to give the song a bit more pep during those parts.
The final result is something that adds a different flavour to the song without diving too far off the deep end and making it unrecognizable.
