Mnet’s Boys Planet is Looking for the Next Global Boyband. “You Are NEXT”

Boys Planet 2022 Global Audition

Leading entertainment company CJ ENM’s music channel, Mnet, announced its upcoming global K-pop boyband project, “Boys Planet,” which will launch the next biggest boyband.

Previously, Mnet launched the girl group Kep1er from the K-pop girl group debut project, “Girls Planet 999,” which looked for talented trainees and artists in Asia. “Girls Planet 999”, broadcasted across the globe, was a worldwide hit with votes from more than 175 regions.

The cumulative number of votes reached more than 100 million, the highest number in audition program history and the final episode attracted more than 200K viewers.

This time, “Boys Planet” will go beyond Asia and look for talent from around the globe. Mnet aims to create a global K-pop boy group that will lead the next generation of K-pop. Finalists chosen by the worldwide audience will be promised their debut in 2023.

“Boys Planet” is currently accepting applications for auditions. Any male born before January 1st, 2010, can apply regardless of nationality or residence. Individual trainees, trainees affiliated with a company, or artists who have already debuted are all eligible to apply.

Candidates must fill out the application form and submit three videos according to the specified guidelines. For more information on eligibility and the application process, please visit the official site boysplanet.net.

The “Boys Planet” team and WAKEONE Entertainment will hold in-person auditions during KCON 2022 LA, the world’s No.1 K-culture festival, set to run from August 19th through the 21st at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena.

Anyone can register on-site during the three days at the ‘Global Audition Booth’ in the LA Convention Center during KCON 2022 LA.

Mnet is known for its global survival audition programs that successfully launched many international K-pop groups thanks to its worldwide infrastructure and production capabilities.

For example, boyband ENHYPEN, launched from Mnet’s survival program “I-LAND,” has become one of the most prominent 4th generation K-pop acts, charting Billboard 200 three times and both “Produce 101” and the boy band that debuted from the program, WANNA ONE, were both widely successful.

Kep1er, from “Girls PLANET 999”, broke the record for the highest day one debut album sales for a K-pop girl group, attesting to its global prowess since the audition program aired.

In addition, the nine-member girl group’s music video for their debut song, ‘WADADA,’ not only hit 100 million views on Youtube in only three months but also surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify only seven months after its debut.

Stay tuned for “Boys Planet” and the promising artists who will become the NEXT global K-pop boyband.
