GLASSY is the debut single from former IZ*ONE member Jo Yuri. The original version is a pop-dance song with some shifting energy throughout its 3 minutes 10 second run time. It’s similar in structure to many modern K-Pop songs in that respect.
I didn’t want to stray too far from what makes the song charming for my remix. So instead, I opted to stay in the same lane but lean more towards full-on dance music to give GLASSY a different feeling.
To do that, I constructed a simple 4/4 dance beat and used a lot of “lighter” and “softer” sounding instruments to maintain the airy vibe of the song. I also changed the bass line to establish the underlying groove with the vocal.
