Set Me Free is the title track for TWICE’s 12th mini-album Ready To Be. The original version is a funky mid-tempo dance track that aligns with TWICE’s current musical direction.
Regarding my remix, I had no absolute direction I wanted to work towards. When I started this project, I only had the vocal and an elementary drum sequence I programmed in Maschine as a starting point.
So much of this remix was done by feel rather than following a set plan, and whatever the universe gave me was put into the track. The final result has a less grandiose sound than the original version yet still puts a different twist on the song.
