IYKYK is XG’s sixth digital single and the pre-release for their upcoming second EP Awe. The original version is a UK Garage track and contains a sample of m-flo’s 2001 single prism.
The vibe of IYKYK is light and airy and leans more towards the pop-influenced variant of UK Garage. A change in direction after the harder Hip-Hop of its predecessor WOKE UP.
This version of IYKYK enters the territory I’m more comfortable working in: 4/4 dance music. While this isn’t as adventurous as my YSK remix, it has a groove that will appeal to those who like pop-dance club tracks.
