Events
Looking back at the notes I made for this article, I see that I didn’t travel to too many places this year, and many of my concert experiences were online rather than in person. But, what I saw live made the travel expense worth it.

First on my list was the inaugural Krazy K-Pop Super Concert in New York. It was a brand-new event with a relatively solid lineup for its debut. I wasn’t planning on attending, but seeing Kwon Eunbi and IVE was too much to pass up.

A week after Krazy K-Pop Super Concert, I returned to New York for the final American stop of aespa’s Synk Hyper Line tour. aespa was the group I looked forward to most, and I was not disappointed.

My final concert was closer to home as I flew west to Las Vegas to see the BABYLOK Tour. Unlike the previous two shows, I didn’t do a write-up or record a podcast after I returned from my trip.
I knew what to expect from BABYMETAL, having seen almost all of their concerts on video since their debut. I had wanted to see them in person for years, so this was a big check mark off my Japanese music bucket list. DETHKLOK was a bit more of a shock to the system. Not musically, as I knew their type of metal music through similar bands, it was more the imagery that went along with their music that threw me off.
I haven’t seen an episode of their animated show, so I had no clue what I was in for during their set. It was interesting.
There was one more show I was going to attend: EVERGLOW in Los Angeles. However, personal issues combined with Las Vegas being way more expensive than I remember and breaking the bank got in the way. Sadly, I could not re-sell my ticket, so I ate the cost. One day, I will see EVERGLOW.
