Review

ALL FOR YOU is the 10th single released by GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE and was used as the theme song for the movie Girls Step.

The a-side is the type of Pop/R&B hybrid that the male EXILE affiliated groups can sleepwalk through. Meaning that the song is lives up to the high standards of EXILE-styled music but isn’t exactly anything to get overly excited about either if you’re already of fan of this type of sound.

The same can be said for one of the b-sides, the English version of Hard Knock Days. While leaning heavily towards the pop side of life, it again isn’t anything you haven’t heard before from the other male groups in the EXILE camp.

The one track on here that is different is a cover of the Jackson Sisters’ I Believe In Miracles. These are not the Jackson sisters as in LaToya, Janet and Rebbie but the 1970’s American Soul and Disco group consisting of sisters Jacqueline Jackson-Rencher, Lyn Jackson, Pat Jackson, Rae Jackson and Gennie Jackson.

The GENERATIONS cover retains some of the old-school funk of the original while adding the modern Japanese R&B twist. And it is sung entirely in English (not Engrish), so those who want a purely Japanese language version may have to look elsewhere.

In the end, ALL FOR YOU is a good song, but again not pushing any boundaries regarding the material from male EXILE groups. This one may be for fans of EXILE and/or Japanese R&B.
