Night 1 (April 19, 2025)

World Tag Team Championship
The War Raiders (c) vs The New Day
Allen: Both teams have been cooled off heavily for the last few months, so I’m hoping they can have the time to pull off a great match. I see The New Day winning, and hopefully, they can return to getting nuclear heat like the weeks after they turned on Big E.
Greg: I don’t get why this match is even on the card. The Smackdown tag division deserved a spot with all the long-term builds the teams in that brand have been involved in. The Raw side feels rushed to get someone on the show. Sadly, this won’t even equate to a heatless banger on paper, but I hope I’m proved wrong. I have no preference for who wins.
BigFreaky: Not sure which way they will go. New Day getting the straps would make people mad, but does anyone even care? They turned on Big E too long ago. New Day prob gets the win.

Singles Match
Rey Mysterio vs El Grande Americano
Allen:One of the brand-new superstars, El Grande Americano, has impacted the last few weeks by beating many luchadors on the roster. He should continue his winning ways to keep the story going. I predict El Grande Americano winning in his Mania debut, overcoming the odds with the LWO and American Made, causing chaos.
Greg: The next great Mexican superstar, El Grande Americano, will have Rey Mysterio staring up at the lights. I expect a plethora of WWE-branded flippy shit and possibly a lot of interference, as Allen has mentioned.
BigFreaky: Rey will add another mask to his history book.

Singles Match
Jade Cargill vs Naomi
Allen: I love that this has been a crazy soap opera drama. Naomi is going crazy and putting on some great promos while Jade has been kicking ass. This will be Jade’s first big singles match since leaving AEW, and Naomi will be the best to make her look great. Naomi can still go mentally crazy without needing a win. My pick is Jade Cargill.
Greg: This is one of the few matches on WrestleMania with a strong build. Jade Cargill has been protected during her early tenure in the WWE, so this will be a test to see if she has improved enough in the ring to work solo. If given enough time, this should be an intense match that will result in Jade Cargill getting her first solo win at the show of shows.
BigFreaky: Not sure how Jade Cargill doesn’t win this one unless it somehow gets messed up by Bianca.

WWE United States Championship
LA Knight (c) vs Jacob Fatu
Allen: LA Knight has had some strange bookings over the last few months but continues to be super popular. However, the Samoan Werewolf Jacob Fatu has continued to be an athletic badass, taking down Braun Strowman several times. Even though it is his Mania debut, I don’t see Fatu winning. He may get unwanted help from the Bloodline that will cost him. Winner and still champ, LA Knight.
Greg: I like LA Knight, but he’s not winning this match. Jacob Fatu has momentum that should be taken advantage of. I prefer Fatu win clean, but since he’s still tied to New Bloodline, I expect shenanigans.
BigFreaky: Fatu, Bloodline helping.

WWE Women’s Championship
Tiffany Straton (c) vs Charlotte Flair
Allen: I really hope they can have a great match because the buildup for both these women has been a complete disaster. Straton has not been a good champ, and it still sounds like she recites her promos. Charlotte tries to improvise during her time, which is petty and rough. As much as I, like most people, don’t want to see Charlotte win again, Tiffany will be better to chase the title.Charlotte wins her 15th world title.
Greg: LOL, this is the one match that is the most predictable. Charlotte shuts down Tiffy Time. I agree with Allen that the buildup to this match hasn’t been great, but it has led to a lot of unintentional hilarity because of how bad it has become. Both women are better as heels, but if Tiffy is the default face, she’ll need more time to grow into that role without being on top.
BigFreaky: I would like to pick Tiffy, but… she’s against Charlotte…

World Heavyweight Championship
Gunther (c) vs Jey Uso
Allen: I do like the story they are telling here with Jey being unable to get over the gigantic roadblock that is Gunther. I’m glad they have Jey locked in now being more serious. Gunther and Jey will be able to have a great match. The company will give the most over star on the roster his chance to run with the title. Winner and new World Heavyweight Champion, Jey Uso.
Greg: This match is going first on night one. I would have expected it to be semi-main or in the middle of the card to give the fans a feel-good moment and wake them up, like when Kofi won the big one.
But nope. Gunther retains.
BigFreaky: Jey Uso. Add in 20 minutes post-match for a Yeet! Celebration.

Main Event: Triple Threat Match
Roman Reigns vs CM Punk (with Paul Heyman) vs Seth Rollins
Allen: I love the intertwining stories they’ve weaved with all the history between all three fighters. This shows that you don’t always need a championship on the line if you have a compelling story that everyone is invested in. It’ll be interesting to see what Paul Heyman will do during this match. I don’t see him turning on either Roman or Punk, but he will be distracting enough for both to have Seth Rollins go over with the victory.
Greg: Another match with years of history to use as building blocks for a great storyline. The predictable thing would be for Heyman to side with Punk. After all, everything is pointing in that direction. But regardless of what Heyman does, I agree with Allen. Seth Rollins will win, as Punk vs. Roman is the next money match for the Tribal Chief.
BigFreaky: The Internet is going hard for Rollins to win this. Same as my compatriots here. I have trouble booking this one in the future. I’ll have to pick Seth Rollins, but for how it goes down…
