WrestleMania Vegas is the 42nd WrestleMania in WWE’s history. The main PLE of the “Big Four”, will the third straight WrestleMania at Las Vegas be the charm for WWE? Or will the high prices come with higher-than-normal expectations that WrestleMania can’t match?

Unsanctioned Match
Drew McIntyre vs Jacob Fatu
Allen: As the first match will be free to watch on ESPN2, I expect this to be a car crash of a match, possibly going all over the arena. They have had them go crazy, beating each other up on SmackDown, so I hope this does, too. There has been news that Drew will take time off to go record the new Highlander movie, so I feel like he will put over Jacob. My pick is for Jacob Fatu.
Greg: “Unsanctioned,” eh? OK. So we should expect these guys to go all out on the brawling and be low on the technical stuff. I, too, have heard that Drew is off to be the Highlander, so the ending of this might be predictable. But how we get to that ending will probably be a fun ride. Winner, Jacob Fatu.
BigFreaky: Jacob Fatu would definitely prosper more with a win from this match. I think Drew is gonna get screwed again. I don’t think we’re gonna see a single armbar in this scuffle. Gonna be a lotta furniture being rearranged. Give me something similar to Roddy/Goldust from the Hollywood Backlot Brawl, or Rock/Mankind “Halftime Heat match, and I’ll be happy. Something crazy, and something silly!
Justin: I’m always talking about how much I love Drew McIntyre and would love to see him come out on top after losing the belt recently. But with him set to film the upcoming Highlander reboot soon, a Jacob Fatu victory would elevate him further into the main event scene.

Six-Man Tag Team Match
The Usos & LA Knight vs Logan Paul, Austin Theory, & IShowSpeed
Allen: I like IShowSpeed; he’s the least annoying of all the streamers and celebrities WWE has brought on lately. The spot where LA Knight threw him into his computer doing a live stream was cool, we shall see what happens in the ring if he can do some cool moves or will just be a bump machine. I will pick The Usos and LA Knight to get revenge and win.
Greg: Unlike Allen, I don’t give a fuck about IShowSpeed. I’ll give him credit for taking that Bron spear, but otherwise it feels like a wasted spot that could have gone to an actual wrestler rather than some social media “celebrity”.
I feel bad for LA Knight getting shoehorned into this go-nowhere match. But at least he’s on the card, I guess, luckier than most of the roster. By default, I will choose LA Knight and The Usos to win. But this feels like a TV show tag match filler, so I’ll probably be taking a bathroom break or getting food while this match drags on.
BigFreaky: As much as I’ve seen of IShowSpeed, he is far down the totem pole of shit “celebrities”. But this match has LP, and I always pray that he breaks his neck. So as long as they lose, that’s all that matters. He doesn’t have “bad guy” heat… he has POS heat. Unfortunately, I expect The Vision to win this after Knight and Uso get mixed up and turn on each other (as usual).
Justin: IShowSpeed. Is. Cursed. The Usos and LA Knight will win the opening match. It gives the Usos a tag title opportunity down the line and sets up a feel-good start to the show.

Singles Match
Seth Rollins vs Gunther
Allen: They made the best with what they could since they decided to finally bring in Gunther late on the Wrestlemania build-up. I do like how it’s setting up Gunther getting a favor from Paul Heyman in the future, hopefully that favor will be a match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. They are planting the seeds for that match. I can’t imagine the Ring General losing. I do see Bron Breakker coming back to cost Seth the match. My pick is for Gunther.
Greg: Um… I was hoping Gunther would continue on with his retiring wrestlers. But I guess there’s no one left to put to pasture anymore. So a match with Seth is a concession. If injuries and circumstances didn’t get in the way, I’m pretty sure both men would be facing different opponents. I expect this to be one of the better singles matches on the card. Gunther for the win.
BigFreaky: RANDOM – I can’t expect a clean win from Guther over Rollins… especially if someone’s hernia has cleared up enough. Gunther will win, but it won’t be all on his own.
Justin: This is an interesting one. Both have strong cases for why they should win. With Gunther potentially retiring and Brock Lesnar retiring later this year, he’ll go over here. And if they want to keep Seth strong, Bron Breakker can always interfere.

Singles Match for WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
AJ Lee (c) vs Becky Lynch
Allen: AJ has beaten Becky three times, and Becky hasn’t had her rematch for the IC title after losing it back at Elimination Chamber. As much as I love AJ, it’s time for Becky to win the IC title back. My pick is Becky Lynch.
Greg: Why? Seriously. The payoff for this feud already happened in Chicago. What is the point of running this back? I don’t have much to say. Becky Lynch for the win just because.
BigFreaky: I really can’t think of how this will go, but I’ll have to stick with the crew and pick Becky Lynch. But it will just make this feud continue into the summer.
Justin: I didn’t think this would be an intriguing WrestleMania match after they’ve already faced each other recently. I kind of still think that. With AJ Lee not around as often, Becky Lynch will reclaim the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match
Nia Jax & Lash Legend(c) vs Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs The Bella Twins
Allen: My original pick would have been for The Bella Twins to win. However, Nikki’s recent ankle injury might throw her and her sister out of the match, and they might get replaced. I see Nia and Lash retaining if that were to happen. However, I could see Bayley and Lyra getting the win, given how badly they did last year. Have The Bellas go after them once everyone is all healthy. I’ll go for the dark horse pick of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
Greg: If Nikki is healthy, then yes, putting the straps on the newly reformed Bella Twins would make total sense. However, unless Nikki has Mr. Miyagi using his magic hands to heal her ankle, I don’t see them making the match. So my assumption will be they will be replaced, most likely by the Kabuki Warriors.
Since the team of Jax & Legend is rather fresh and just got the belts, I don’t see them losing to any other team that isn’t a Bella Twin (if they are in the match), so I call for them to retain.
BigFreaky: First of all… wtf is up with this graphic “photoshopping” Brie looks a million years old. I think yes, The Bellas would/will get some new accessories, but if Nikki isn’t cleared, the Fridge and Lash will retain until Summerslam.
Justin: Why are the Bellas here again? I just can’t go against WWE’s obsession with the twins. If Nikki is good to go, the Bella Twins will win. If she isn’t, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria will take the titles.
Singles Match for the Women’s World Championship
Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs Liv Morgan
Allen: Stephanie has lost me ever since they changed her cool theme song to her current crappy one. It really should be an easy lay-up for Liv to win the title after her Royal Rumble win. Let’s hope they can put on a great match. I would like to see some Judgment Day hijinks and Stephanie fighting them all off and almost getting the win. I’ve just been too much on the Liv Morgan train for years not to see her finally get the women’s title back. My pick is Liv Morgan.
Greg: I like Stephanie, but this is too much of an easy free throw to miss if Liv Morgan doesn’t win. Stephanie chasing Liv isn’t such a bad idea, or we could have Racquel and Roxanne start going after Liv instead. The possibilities are more open with Liv as champion compared to if Stephanie retains. Unless some fresh faces start getting moved up the card. But I’m sticking with Liv for the win.
BigFreaky: I hope that new basketball-sized goose egg on Liv has subsided, but she should probably have a nice big forehead shiner. I think I’m gonna go against the grain on this one and stick with the champ. Stephanie Vaquer will retain when R&R get involved, and it goes sideways.
Justin: They’ve obviously been building this up for a while. Liv Morgan will definitely walk out of Wrestlemania 42 as champion. Side note: that bump on her forehead freaks me out.
Singles Match for the WWE Undisputed Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs Randy Orton
Allen: I’ve been a Randy Orton fan ever since his debut. I want him to finally win his 15th world title, and it feels like everyone else wants to see that, too. However, with the recent storyline swerve with Pat McAfee now in Randy’s corner, I have no idea what to think. I hate that McAfee is involved now; they could have just let them go into their old history, like with Legacy. But nope, TKO had to just try to spice things up that has been universally hated since that SmackDown episode.
I would hope they keep things unpredictable and try to make lemonade out of the lemons they have been dealt. I could use a longer break from Cody, too. I’ll predict that Randy Orton gets his 15th title win and shortly will lose it back to Cody in a future match, kind of like what happened to Drew McIntyre a few weeks ago.
Greg: These two have a history going back many years, so this match has that going for it. Second, a heel Randy Orton is peak Randy Orton, so another positive part going into Wrestlemania. Otherwise, I’m not crazy excited to see this match. Given what the main event scene on the blue brand is, I guess this was the best option?
Unless Cody is going to take a post-Mania break, I don’t see Orton coming out of this as champion. I think it might be a more interesting post-Mania if Orton wins, but my gut tells me he’s gonna be staring at the lights. Your winner and still champion, Cody Rhodes.
BigFreaky: People aren’t going to boo Orton. I can see boos if Cody wins. Now that McAfee is involved, I can see Cody losing again to BS at Mania. Cody is gonna get distracted and lose his way again. Randy Orton will get that 15th title. This won’t be the end of the Cody/Orton (and McAfee) story. This is a summer-long story for sure.
Justin: Randy Orton will win number 15. Ari Emanuel isn’t going to let his star Pat McAfee side with the loser. An interesting story coming out of Cody’s loss could be him realizing everyone is right. He needs to tap into a different side of himself if he wants not just to reach the top, but stay there. The beginning of Homelander Cody. I’m pretty sure I’ve booked Homelander Cody a few times already, though. But the crowd is already starting to turn on Cody a bit, and they’re definitely cheering Randy.
