Night Two Sunday
Singles Match
Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi
Allen: This match has had the best build-up, and it has been all very simple. No words, just brawling and madness. Keep this match under 10 minutes, but have it be all action.
Strap the rocket! I’ve been an Oba Feminist for a while now. My pick is for Oba Femi.
Greg: WWE should just rename this the “BIG E BIG MEATY MEN SLAPPING MEAT INVITATIONAL.” This match will be a good indication of whether the fed is going to give the ball to the future or if we get the same old shit from Lesnar of Suplex City and F5 for the win. Don’t get me wrong, unlike most of his contemporaries, Lesnar can still go, but the booking of his matches tends to be very one-note most times if there isn’t anything really feeding the build to the match.
Luckily, the story going into this match is very simple. The young lion is coming for the old lion’s spot and will do anything to accomplish that task, and it appears Oba Femi is being positioned to take Lesnar down. But after so many years of watching the fed, I have learned to keep my expectations tempered because eventually all the goodwill gets pissed away in the payoff.
I’m hoping I’m wrong and will pick Oba Femi for the win. All the Oba Feminists out there will be rejoicing.
BigFreaky: If Oba doesn’t win… then why even do it? This match will be short. Oba will win, but it will not be easy. Bring on the meat slapping!
Justin: An Oba Femi win would be incredible. Brock obviously loves working with him. And while you want to keep Brock strong heading into his retirement, there are ways to tell that story even if he loses here. Oba gains so much from a win in this hot feud. I could also see a no-contest to keep things going, but that would have to be executed extremely well if they don’t want the crowd to turn on it.
Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
Penta (c) vs Je’Von Evans vs Dragon Lee vs JD McDonagh vs Rusev vs Rey Mysterio
Allen: This match will be crazy, especially since it’ll be live on ESPN. JD is going to get hit with something crazy, like an OG Cutter, while hanging from the briefcase.
I think Rey Mysterio shouldn’t be in the match coming off an injury so soon. Rey Fenix is right there; they could have had him instead for more crazy moves and crazy Lucha Bros things.
I think Penta will retain after all the chaos. He just won the title not too long ago. Je’Von Evans will have plenty of time to chase the IC championship next year.
Greg: Hey! Rusev has a WrestleMania match! Rejoice! He’s not fighting for the catering world championship but an actual, meaningful belt. Right on. Given the level of talent in this match, I expect that someone (Je’Von) will do something incredibly death-defying and stupid. But I think that can be said for any of the luchadors as well. But I think Je’Von will add an extra level of crazy.
My heart says Penta should retain after all the insanity is over. But I’m going with the bold prediction that Je’Von Evans will walk (or get stretchered) out as the new IC champion.
BigFreaky: Make sure Rey doesn’t have any matches on Smackdown the Friday before!! JeVon will get SO CLOSE, but I think Penta will retain. Let’s hope everyone can walk away from the ring after this match.
Justin: A Triple H–booked multi-man ladder match at WrestleMania is going to deliver. To me, there are only three options: Penta retains, Rey gets one more run, or Je’Von Evans takes the next step. That said, it still feels a bit too early for Je’Von. And Rey doesn’t need the belt to tell an interesting story. Penta retains.
Singles Match
“The Demon” Finn Bálor vs Dominik Mysterio
Allen: Stupid Sex Bálor is going to come back with Stupid Sexy Demon. I hope he does a cool half-painted setup for his body paint and a cool intro. Maybe a bunch of little Demonitos that aren’t so kid-friendly all over the place. And then a bunch of Demonito puppets in the crowd.
It would be cool if they carry this feud into AAA and have Finn take the AAA Mega Championship off him there. As for WrestleMania, even though I see Judgment Day messing around, I feel like Finn Bálor will take the win.
Greg: Geez, way to spoil the return of the demon WWE. I mean it will probably still get a huge pop, but probably not if it was kept secret until Balor’s entrance. Oh well. With the history behind this match, there’s a lot of anticipation for Stupid Sexy Demon Balor to teach Dirty Dom some hard life lessons. I think this should be a fun match, with Dom pulling lots of heel tactics, similar to his real dad, to keep the Demon at bay.
With the way the Fed books things, I would expect Dirty Dom to win, but I think Finn Balor is going to come out on top to give momentum to his babyface turn. Dom’s position is so good now that he can take the loss without losing any steam.
BigFreaky: Looks like The Demon is back! Can Finn move his way back up the card and get in some title picture after Mania? How can you ever discount Dominik, though? Lie, cheat, steal, reincarnation. Dom doesn’t always win the slimy way, and could upset Finn. Finn FTW.
Justin: Bringing back Finn as “The Demon” has to guarantee a win, right? This isn’t being booked by he who shall not be named, so I’m going with “The Demon” Finn Bálor.
United States Championship Match
Sami Zayn (c) vs Trick Williams
Allen: I would have liked it better to be a triple threat with Carmello Hayes. He has been carrying the great matches on SmackDown lately, including the US Open Invitational alongside Ilia Dragunov. Trick has been super over since getting to the main roster, and he is just bleeding charisma. Sami is slowly turning heel again with his cocky attitude, and that is where I like him best. I feel like they could be a great match. I’m going with my current fave, Trick Williams, to win, and hopefully he and Carmello can have a series of matches in a few months.
Greg: I haven’t been paying attention to the whole US title scene on SmackDown. I think it’s great that Trick Williams is already getting into a ‘Mania match; his entrance should be epic. I’m just gonna pick Trick Williams for the win and hope I’m right.
BigFreaky: Trick could use this win for sure, but doesn’t Zayn always feel like he needs a win too? This is a wildcard match for me, for sure. I’m gonna have to flip a coin for this one. Well, the coin picked Trick for me. Perhaps I should hit up my bookie or some scummy online betting website.
Justin: I love Sami Zayn. I feel like I’m usually the only one happy for the guy. That being said, Trick Williams will win the US Championship to capitalize on his star power and his electric entrance.
Singles Match for the WWE Women’s Championship
Jade Cargill (c) vs Rhea Ripley
Allen: I feel like it should have been Bianca vs Jade, but sadly, Bianca’s injury has kept her out for a whole year. Feels like WWE didn’t really hit well after Mania with Tiffany, as she felt like a non-factor. Jade is a paper champion, but a hell of a good-looking one. Rhea’s popularity is still through the roof, and it would be foolish not to have her win the title and help out SmackDown. They need her help big time. A part of me feels like Bianca can return to screw Rhea and Iyo since it was they who injured her and put her on the shelf for a year. However, if they keep things clean, the winner will be Mami, Rhea Ripley.
Greg: LOL, has Jade actually wrestled a match since getting the belt? I don’t recall her doing much since becoming champion. If she has, I guess I missed her most recent matches. Once Iyo and Rhea lost the tag belts, it was obvious that Rhea was going to Wrestlemania to face Jade.
I think this could either become a hard-hitting, brawling-style match or a slow, plodding botch fest that eventually starts to fall apart. I don’t see an in-between here. Since Jade’s run on top hasn’t been that exciting, logic would dictate that Rhea Ripley will walk out as the brand new SmackDown Women’s champion.
BigFreaky: Another Mania, another Rhea Ripley match. As much as I would expect RR to clean up with Jade… I don’t know if it’s going to go that way. I can’t in good faith pick Jade over Mami, at least at this point. Give us a few years, and maybe things will change. But I gotta go with Rhea this time.
Justin: WWE is likely a bit over Jade as champion. When in doubt, they always rely on Rhea Ripley.
Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
CM Punk (c) vs Roman Reigns
Allen: The promos have been great throughout the build, even if they had to extend them out for almost two months. This always felt like the real headliner of Wrestlemania, and it’s the match I’m most excited for.
However, given how the last few weeks have been with WWE/TKO, it’s been a bit muddy, and I can’t see a clear winner. Will we see a Bloodline reunion? Doesn’t seem that way anymore. Will *shudder* Pat McAfee come in to play, and will we have a new TKO/Corporation faction? Will The Rock represent TKO?
As much as Punk has been carrying things the last few months and doing a great job, I feel like WWE will want to go for something shocking. This can possibly turn out like last year’s Cena/Cody match and FEIN FEIN FEIN. It can’t be that bad, can it?
Whatever the result is, I’m going with Roman Reigns walking out of Vegas as the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Greg: I don’t have a horse to run with in this match and don’t really care who wins. The promos for the buildup have been good to great for the most part, and I can only hope the actual in-ring action matches the intensity the two men are putting in through all their talk. If forced to choose a winner, I think I would go with CM Punk simply because he’s still a full-time roster member, unlike Roman, who appears to be winding down his career.
I don’t think the WWE needs a part-timer holding the belt again, now that there are some fresh up-and-comers coming in from NXT and other guys ready to move up the ladder in the post-Mania aftermath, who could probably use some rub and reps from experienced guys from week to week.
BigFreaky: Has this story come to a head, or are there more chapters left to play out? Are anymore Samoan’s waiting in the wings to protect the family lineage? Have we seen the last of the Final Boss?? Am I looking too far into this? Probably. But it’s pro wrestling, and that’s what us nerds do. I really don’t know which direction this match could go. The Big Dog hasn’t had a title for 2 years. He could probably keep it warm for a couple of months. My heart says Punk, but my brain says Roman Reigns.
Justin: With my prediction that Jacob Fatu will be elevated further into the main event scene after beating Drew, I can see Roman winning here and eventually dropping the title to Jacob down the line. Roman Reigns comes out on top against CM Punk.
Elimination Chamber 2026 Results
Allen: 2-4
Greg: 2-4
BigFreaky: 0-4
Justin: 2-4
We have our first goose egg of the year with BigFreaky going winless in his predictions for Elimination Chamber.
Predictions Count
Allen: 3-8
Greg: 4-8
BigFreaky: 3-8
Justin: 5-8
After two big WWE PLE’s, Justin is in the lead with 5 of 8 right. Greg has a good 50% ratio going on, while BigFreaky’s zero allows Allen to catch up and bring up the rear. WrestleMania should shake things up with our picks. Will we be able to recover after Vegas?
